wow, what a drive!!

There is a reason for the picture.

Several years ago after the River Drome canoe festival, we had the pleasure of visiting Chamonix and Mont Blanc with John and Debbie. It stuck in Tracey's mind and she wanted to return, so we have.

The Mont Blanc tunnel was expensive so we decided to literally "go over the mountain" and what a drive it was.

At 8,100 feet it is the third highest mountain pass in Switzerland, the ascent was exciting and it felt like I drove into space as we started the descent in a dense cloud, several local petrol heads overtook us on a road that was hairy and my heart went in my mouth as there was no Armco barrier. 

No we are in Chamonix, I deserve that beer!
